Persian is written from right to left and uses 32 letters, many of which change shape depending on their position in a word. LingoCul introduces these features gradually to make learning manageable.

  • Guided to Independent Learning

Through step-by-step, guided practice, students learn to recognize letters, words, and sentence patterns, then apply what they learn to read and understand sentences independently.

  • Structured Curriculum

Our five-level curriculum introduces manageable amounts of new material, systematically reinforces previous lessons, and integrates visual materials and native-speaker listening practice to strengthen reading comprehension.

  • Flexible Private Lessons

✓ Live, one-on-one online instruction.

✓ Choose one-hour sessions twice a week or two-hour sessions once a week.

✓ Each four-week course includes eight instructional hours.

✓ Progress at your own manageable pace.

✓ Receive practice materials to reinforce learning between classes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Common Questions About This Track

If you have previous Persian reading knowledge and are interested in joining our program, we’ll begin our classes together with a placement assessment to determine the most appropriate starting level for you.

Yes. You can use what you learn in written Persian to communicate with native speakers, and they will generally understand you. However, your speech may sound formal or bookish because everyday spoken Persian differs significantly from written Persian in vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure. Just as English speakers often say “I'm gonna” instead of “I am going to,” Persian speakers use many conversational forms that differ from written Persian. Without familiarity with these spoken forms, you also have difficulty understanding native speakers in everyday conversations..

Most Persian sounds are similar to sounds found in English. However, Persian also has some sounds that may be unfamiliar to English speakers. Through guided pronunciation practice and the Phanis Phonetic System, you will learn to recognize and pronounce Persian sounds accurately.

Yes. Since lessons are private and tailored to your learning pace, you may progress faster if you have more time to practice between sessions.
